After experimenting with truly original designs, Dr. Curtis Thigpen, a neuroscientist, concluded that the early guitar amplifier pioneers got it right. There is a reason that those well established circuits have been copied so many times. They just work well with the human brain and its complex relationship with the guitar and amplifier. Nevertheless, they can be improved upon.

So Curtis took what he had learned from books, experimentation, repairs, modifications, and fused them to produce something new. Starting with his favorite black panel amplifier the Bassman, he kept the good, left out the bad, added a durable all-film-capacitor design, unique layout, circuit tweaks, unconventional controls for added versatility, 6V6GT tubes for 22 Watts, lightweight cabinet, custom-made transformers, and much more. The result is the Eternum 22. Players have described it as D*mble meets F*nder, incredibly responsive to the player’s style and pick attack, an amplifier that can go from Black Panel clean, to warm overdrive, to tweed grit all with an uncommonly high level of sound quality.
